Salty Dog’s inshore vessel is a 26ft Carolina Skiff center console, otherwise known as our barge, powered by a Suzuki 200hp 4 stroke. Equipped with Lowrance chart plotters and side scanners, a massive platform for casting, a power pole for easy shallow water anchoring and a Minn Kota trolling motor. This vessel holds up to 6 people comfortably.
Salty Dog Charters was established in 2013 by Captain Brandon Vaughan. What started off as small, one man operation has now continuously grown year after year into a multi-vessel fleet with solid captains and crew behind it all. Our crew is consistent, educated, reliable and very hard working. Captain Brandon has envisioned this business to not only be a charter operation but a staple in the local fishing industry that people can rely on and trust.
This business platform has allowed him to create jobs, partner with local foundations in order to serve the community and give back to the Tampa Bay Area. He is also involved with the preservation of the environment and ecosystem around us all. His true passion is educating and empowering our clients on our fishery.

He has taken this industry by storm, growing his small business into a 2 boat operation covering offshore and inshore guided charters. He truly loves to empower and educate his clients on the ecosystem around us. He has been fishing this area since he was around 8 years old, he grew up on Tampa Bay learning the ins and the outs of the fishing industry. Captain Brandon strives for excellency in every single trip he runs.
