St Pete Beach – Fall Fishing Report

posted in: Fishing Reports | 0

Well it’s that time of year again; drag smoking kingfish and big grouper. Yes it is fall fishing at its best. We have been catching kings in 20 to 45 feet of water off of St Pete Beach regularly on live bait and artificials. Get them while you can, the bite will slow as water temps dip into the 60’s. Nothing gets my heart pumping like a drag screaming kingfish. The grouper bite is picking up as the water temps drop. We are catching gag grouper in the 22-31 inch range. The hogfish bite is getting better. Yes I said it, hogfish! We’re catching hogs on hook and line with shrimp and fiddler crabs. Hogfish are some of the tastiest fish in the sea and a real joy to catch on hook and line. Also sharks, mango snapper, spanish mackerel, bonita and barracuda are some of the species you can expect to run into on one of our trips.  St Petersburg Kingfish
